For more than 100 Years, The Johnson Family has been in the transportation business. Starting as a blacksmith and wagon building enterprise in 1897, our founder, William Johnson, opened service as a moving company in 1900. Johnson Storage and Moving Co., became one of the first of its kind in the western United States. Many other firsts were to follow.

We were one of the first regional transportation companies to retire its team of horses and to use motorized trucks. Johnson was one of the first Rocky Mountain "Furniture Warehousemen" to join the National Furniture Warehouse Association in the early 1920's, and the first to build a fireproof warehouse in Colorado.

The firm is now owned and operated by fourth generation family members, Mark Johnson & Jim Johnson. From its founding site at 221 Broadway in Denver, the company has expanded over the past 10 decades to multiple locations spanning 5 states, including Security Van Lines of New Orleans, Denver Moving & Storage, and our small packaging and shipping division- "The Box Shop". We are now one of the leading moving and relocation service companies in America.
