Home > Moving Tips > Moving Appliances
Moving your home appliances from one home to another requires know-how and planning. We will do all of the heavy work--transporting these appliances on to and off of the moving van--but you are responsible for making sure that these appliances are prepared properly for the move. Smith Dray Line can help you identify what these preparations are. The following home appliances will require the most preparation: refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and range. Make sure that all of these appliances are disconnected and serviced properly by a trained technician and cleaned prior to moving day. In the case of your refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, and washer, all hoses should be disconnected and drained to avoid the occurrence of any leaks and mildew--your mover is not responsible for any damage caused by leaks, mold or mildew. Most small home appliances, such as toasters or mixers, do not require special servicing, but should be cleaned before packing day. |
